Today, precisely 14 days after the solar eclipse, the lunar eclipse is set to grace us on Sharad Purnima.

Sharad Purnima holds significant importance in Hindu culture, with the moon’s radiant rays on this night often likened to nectar. It’s a tradition for people to prepare kheer under the open sky to honor this occasion. However, this time, the lunar eclipse is casting its shadow on the celebration of Sharad Purnima.

Take these precautions during lunar eclipse

Pregnant women should take special precautions during the eclipse. Pregnant women should not look at the moon at the time of lunar eclipse. During this period one should not even leave the house. Any sharp object like scissors, knife should not be used at this time. Pregnant women should not cut anything with sharp objects during the eclipse.

Why does lunar eclipse occur?

The Earth revolves around the Sun and the Moon revolves around the Earth. In this process, there comes a time when the Moon, Earth and the Sun come in the same line and the sunlight falls on the Earth, but does not reach the Moon. This phenomenon is called lunar eclipse as an astronomical phenomenon.
