Indian cricket star Shikhar Dhawan shared an emotional note on Instagram to mark his son Zoravar’s birthday on December 26. In the heartfelt message, Dhawan expressed pride in his nine-year-old son and posted a picture of a video call they had shared.
Shikhar Dhawan’s personal life has been marked by a recent divorce from his ex-wife Ayesha Mukherjee. The court officially granted the divorce in October, citing “cruelty” inflicted on Dhawan. The court acknowledged Dhawan’s claims of being kept apart from his son and being pressured into financial decisions.
As part of the divorce settlement, the court ordered Ayesha Mukherjee to facilitate Zoravar’s visits to India for overnight stays with Dhawan and his family, especially during school holidays. However, despite these legal provisions, Dhawan revealed in his Instagram post that he has been facing challenges in establishing direct contact with his son.
“It’s been a year since I saw you in person, and now, for almost three months, I’ve been blocked from everywhere so Posting the same picture to wish you, my boy, a very Happy Birthday. Even if I can’t connect with you directly, I connect with you through Telepathy. I am so proud of you, and I know you’re doing great and growing up nicely,” Dhawan wrote in his emotional message.
