BCCI Officially Designates Dubai as the Venue for IPL 2024 Auction and Extends Retention Deadline to November 26

The Board of Control for Cricket in India or BCCI has confirmed that Dubai will be the official venue for the IPL 2024 Auction. The auction will be held at the Coca-Cola Arena in the desert city, on December 19. This will be the first-ever IPL auction that will take place outside India. BCCI previously also considered Istanbul, Turkey as the venue for the last year’s auction but later decided against it.
BCCI moved the player retention deadline from November 15 to November 26. Each of the 10 teams will have a budget of Rs 100 crore for the 2024 season, which is Rs 5 crore more than last year. The Women’s Premier League auction will take place on December 9 at the same location. All 10 teams need to share their lists of retained and released players by November 26.
